The Philosophy

When women are represented in the upper echelon of their industry and field, they give back, influence social change, become change agents and inspire innovation. Ultimately, we are improving the lives of girls through action and exposure to the entrepreneurial mindset and skill set.

The Vision

Our vision is that 100% of Certified GEMs graduate high school feeling like they have a strong sense of sisterhood and responsibility to one another. They will be self-assured, college bound, and career-focused so they can become the girl bosses they were born to be.

The Fuel

Powered by Oakland Natives Give Back Fund, Inc. (ONGB), which aims to solve the greatest social ills of the day by creating, funding and incubating innovative programs, partnerships and experiences to empower the next generation of high achieving citizens, The Girls Equity Movement is fueled by a generous investment of $150K from ONGB, which enabled us to sustain while we build.
