Jessica Obando
Hello! This is my story.
I transformed my lifelong love of play into an exciting career as a life coach.
I’m a descendant of Peru, raised in California. I’ve learned the power of story told through handcrafting costumes with my father and mother for cultural events. From a young age, I danced folklore at international music festivals.
Through experiences, I have specialized as a fashion stylist, studied the skill of people, and more recently emerged in a new direction of awareness, life coaching.
When I owned an eco-chic boutique in the arts district of Long Beach, CA, I embraced entrepreneurial skills that I learned from my family’s business. I quickly learned that creating relationships within an industry was important to carry my ambitions in the world of business. I also worked with my childhood friend Barbie at Mattel Inc. as a contract administrator in marketing, branding and licensing. My time as a paralegal for 9 years in intellectual property, shaped my ability to communicate effectively. Now, living in the Bay Area, I work as a business consultant helping corporations to polish leadership development, recruitment, and strategic goals with coaching practices.
I am a mother of 2 boys. Alexander will graduate from the University of Arizona and Andreas is a thriving autistic teenager who performs on social media and is a red belt in martial arts. As a single parent, I instill integrity, security, play, competence and growth for my boys. They are exceptional human beings.
In efforts to find work life balance, I incorporate wellness practices to my routine. Dance, meditation, expressive art, hiking, yoga, and music are a few. I am fluent in Spanish and I aspire to be fluent in French within the next 2 years.
As a life coach, I help people find balance and focus through movement practices and lifelong tools that create change.
Why I want to coach a teen girl: My life has unfolded in a timely manner. If I would have had the support and tools, the outcome of my ambitions would be slightly different. For this reason, I want to empower a young girl to be in their confidence.
What inspires me...
I lost both parents at a young age. Grief is part of the human condition. It’s an invitation to live your life exactly the way you imagined it. I aim for joy on a daily basis.
